Mijou had been pacing back in forth in front of Callahan's office, or rather what remained of it after the dreadful attack to Tao village by the once respected Kyurem, Sorbet. Records for the teams had been lost, and all had to meet with the Ninetales to register again. The Oshawott's teammate Upaa the Wooper happily splashed in the rain beside him, but Tama, the younger Surskit perched on Mijou's head was starting to get irritated by the rain. Mijou decided to push aside the rumors of how Callahan was a really spooky guy aside and finally knocked on the door. The door opened almost instantly. The large, silvery-gray Ninetales stood in front of them, his red eyes gleaming.

"Come in, come in! My goodness, come in! I can't believe you've all been waiting outside in the rain all this time! You could have knocked earlier, you know!"

The members of Team Azure politely shook away the water from their bodies before entering and Mijou looked suspiciously around.

"My name is Callahan, or Calla, for short. I'm the guild registrar, you know. I'm quite good at it!"

Mijou relaxed at his apparently friendly demeanor. "Hi, we're here to register our new application. We had an appointment, we're Team…"

"Oh, please allow me to take your belongings, they're all wet! I'll just hang them in front of the fireplace to dry as we go over the formalities."

The team looked at each other awkwardly; they had no belongings. The Ninetales looked at them with such an eager look that Mijou removed his bow-tie and handed it to him. That would do, right?

"And the paperwork, of course! There will be a lot of that, don't you worry one bit!"

"Uh, thanks" Mijou replied.

"Thanks, thanks!" came the echoing voice of Tama, who had a habit to repeat Mijou's speech, as his own was late in coming. Upaa smiled as if he had not realized what Callahan meant.

"You do have the forms that we've mailed you filled out, yes? That does always make things go much quicker here."

"Upaa upaa!" the Wooper said gleefully, handing over the papers he had been tasked with holding. (How does a Wooper hold things, you wonder? Well that's…)

"What's this? These forms are soaking wet, and the ink has run! Goodness, we're in for a lot more paperwork than I could have hoped to dream of!"

"Ugh, really?" Mijou groaned. "Does it really matter? It doesn't look that bad."

"That bad! Bad!" the Surskit chanted.

"No matter, I have spare forms, and all the time in the world! I trust you have no pressing appointments yet, so I'll write down your information now."

"Upaa upaa!" Upaa exclaimed as if he had been offered something fun. Clearly the implication of impending tedious paperwork evaded him.

Mijou had a disapproving look on his face.

"With your help, of course."

The Oshawott jumped as Callahan gazed at him with his piercing red eyes. "Of course, sure!"

"Let's get right down to it, shall we? My fastest time for entering a team in the official guild registrar is a touch under a few hours; let's see if we can break the record!

All right now, names, please?"

"I am Mijou," the Oshawott explained and then pointed to his teammates. "And this is Upaa and Tama."

"Tama! Tama!" the little one repeated.

"Upaa!" Upaa said. It was unclear if he was repeating his name or saying something different since all he ever said was "upaa".

"Ahh.. what.. commo- er, good names you all have! How do you spell them?"

Mijou rolled his eyes.

"M-I-J-O-U, T-A-M-A…"

"Upaa-Upaa-Upaa-Upaa," Upaa spelled out.

"Interesting spelling! Are you foreign? French, perhaps?"

"Uh? Um, no.  Though people usually wouldn't think to put an O in my name."

"Ah, no, forget it, France is just made up here, you know. Often used as comic relief. Er, just forget that.

Moving on!

What alias do you wish to give you lot of fellows? I hope it's something good! I've been so bored by Pokemon insisting to use a name like "Team Awesome" or anything of the sort. More like "Team Mediocrity," I like to think! I'm sure you have a much more original name."

Mijou stood proudly. "It's Team Azure! You spell that A…"

"I knew you wouldn't let me down! Is that the normal spelling, or do you insist on losing letters, or replacing them altogether entirely? (I hope not..)"

The Oshawott sighed silently. There was no use trying to talk to this guy, he just kept cutting him off with his rambling.

"And.. done. All right! Next topic!"

You there, lad! You seem to be the leader of the team, here. Why don't you tell me about yourself? Please make it interesting! I'm not filing a police report, you know. I don't get paid for this, either. I do it for the stories people tell! Everyone has a story! (Some are better than others, though. That's for sure..) However, I do hope yours isn't filled to the brim with angst and darkness, you know. We have enough of that as it is with the recent crises we've been going through!

If you insist on weaving a yarn of incredible sadness and general malaise, please make it good. I'll discern the necessary details from your story and put it down in the log book here."

"Well," Mijou began. Finally a chance to talk! "No angst, don't worry. My idiot older brother always used to pick on me because he said I was too goody-goody. So I decided to prove to him I could be cool too and joined the guild. I guess that's a shameful reason, isn't it?"

"What an enchanting tale! I can see why you'd probably like to join the Rescuers!"

"Eh?" Mijou blinked.  No we're part of the Rogues Guild!" But Callahan seemed not to hear.

"And you there, lad, what is your story? Your leader has done an excellent job of keeping me awake at this late hour, I hope you do the same!"

Upaa smiled his Wooper smile as someone finally asked him something.

"Upaa, upaa upaa. Upaa paa paa upaa. Upaa! Upaa upaa, upaa paa paa u upaa. Upaa upaa paa paa, upaa upaa. Upaa, paa upaa?"

" Oh, I see, I see!" Callahan nodded as he scribbled some words.

Mijou looked in disbelief. Clearly the Ninetales wasn't paying any attention to what Upaa was saying; it was gibberish to everyone but Mijou and few others.

Callhan turned to Tama still on Mijou's head. "And how about you?"

The Ninetales's imposing figure and attitude terrified the young Surskit who flattened himself on Mijou's head in an desperate attempt to hide. Clearly Callahan did not heed the silent reply or he did not care. Mijou came to his rescue.

"Tama was hatched during a mission to Sapling Village. He's kind of shy and doesn't talk much yet."

"Very well, then! It seems I have all I need in order to register you here in our peaceful Tao Village! Just to make sure all the facts are correct, please look over them and sign your initials at the bottom! Don't forget to sign off on your belongings! You wouldn't believe how many people forget their accessories, only to leave them here with me! (Please don't do that, I have so many things cluttering up my attic in dusty old boxes..)"

Upaa still had his signature smiling face on, although one might have guessed he was sleeping with his eyes opened at this point. Mijou shook himself back from a doze and grabbed the pen he was offered.

"Well, now! I don't think I'll keep you here any longer. I have everything I need from you! I haven't broken any records for time tonight, though. Your story took up quite a bit of it! (Thankfully, it didn't put me to sleep.. it's happened before). Oh well! Time to conclude our business here!"

Mijou did not hide a sigh of relief. Goodness, this would have been much quicker were it not for Callahan's questionable attention span. The Ninetales literally pushed them to the door to be on their way. Mijou cried out for the accessories they had left inside and Callahan cheerfully fetched them for him with a chuckle.
"Looking forward to seeing you again. Tata!"
I finally decided to do the writing application for Team Azure! Although I'm not sure when/if I'll have time for written entries. And deviantART's horrible text updater is a huge deterrent for writing. I hope the formatting isn't too bad.
